Not especially interesting this, but it had to be done. The older station wagons, such as mine, have four inward facing tip up seats. My long term aim is to replace these with storage options and more modern seating. Also, I wanted more space to allow me to get to work weather proofing my vehicle (yes, this is a well known Defender issue). I think that we removed 48 bolts in total for all the seats and fixing points – some were quite corroded, but only a couple sheared in two, so not bad. We have temporarily filled the holes with new M6 bolts, until such time as the new fittings, detailed above, are added. It sure gives me more room in the back now – I quite like it!
