As usual the cockpit had to be completed first, prior to fuselage assembly. The base colour was Tamiya “Cockpit Green (IJN)” XF-71, followed by various details painted with Vallejo Model Color “Black” 71057. The instrument panel decal was applied and then the entire cockpit treated with Humbrol Clear and then Citadel Purity Seal spray. A light dry brushing with Games Workshop “Boltgun Metal”, followed by a pin wash with AK Interactive “Wash for Interior” (AK093), completed this work. No doubt that the cockpit details have been simplified by me, but I am alright with that on a basic kit such as this (nice as it is) in this scale.
The canopy was masked using the Eduard mask set. As display space was limited and I had a spare stand I opted for the simpler wheels up. One day, with a more detailed model, I will build a standalone aircraft!
