LRDG F30 truck build – Part 3:Painting

Primer: Tamiya “Fine Surface Primer” (light grey) spray can.

Base coats: In all cases the paint was sprayed as a 1:2 mixture in Mr.Color leveling thinner.

  • Mr.Color “Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black”
  • AK Interactive Real Colours “Portland Stone No.64” (RC041)
  • Disruptive pattern of AK Interactive Real Colours “Silver Grey No.28” (RC866)

Details:

  • Wheels: Vallejo Model Color “Black Grey” (70862)
  • Chassis: AK Interactive “Black” (AK11029)
  • Other parts (including the stowage block by Black Dog (T35263)) were painted with the paints shown.

A 1:2 mixture of Mr.Color “Clear Gloss” (46) and Mr.Color Leveling Thinner was sprayed over the entire model and the decals applied. Gloss was reapplied to the areas with decals, in order to protect them for subsequent stages.
