B-4 M1931 203mm howitzer build – Part 3:Painting

Primer: Tamiya “Fine Surface Primer” (light grey) spray can.

Basecoat: A 1:2 mixture of Mr.Color “Russian Green (2) – USSR tank late WWII” (136) and Mr.Color Leveling Thinner was sprayed over the entire gun. Then, a 4:1 mixture of Mr.Color “Russian Green (2) – USSR tank late WWII” (136) and Mr.Color “Character White” (107) in Mr.Color Leveling Thinner (1:2 ratio of paint mixture to thinner) was sprayed on the upper parts.

Details: The wooden loading platform was first painted with Mr.Color “Tan” (44). After this two coats of AMMO “Heavy Chipping Effect”, the above green paint was sprayed over. Once dry, I chipped the piece using water and sharp points.

Gloss coat: A 1:2 mixture of Mr.Color “Clear Gloss” (46) and Mr.Color Leveling Thinner was sprayed over the entire model.
