Primer: Tamiya “Fine Surface Primer” (light grey) spray can
Base coat (under side): A mixture of 90% Tamiya acrylics (Tamiya XF-23 “Light Blue”) and 10% Tamiya X-22 Clear in Tamiya lacquer thinner (2:1 paint mixture to thinner) was sprayed on.
Base coat (upper side camouflage colour 1): A mixture of 90% Tamiya acrylics (Tamiya XF-52 “Flat Earth” and Tamiya XF-59 “Desert Yellow” in a 5:1 ratio) and 10% Tamiya X-22 Clear in Tamiya lacquer thinner (2:1 paint mixture to thinner) was sprayed on.
Base coat (upper side camouflage colour 2): A mixture of 90% Tamiya acrylics (Tamiya XF-58 “Olive Green” and Tamiya XF-2 “Flat White” in a 9:1 ratio) and 10% Tamiya X-22 Clear in Tamiya lacquer thinner (2:1 paint mixture to thinner) was sprayed on.
Base coat (upper side camouflage colour 3): A mixture of 90% Tamiya acrylics (Tamiya XF-24 “Dark Grey”) and 10% Tamiya X-22 Clear in Tamiya lacquer thinner (2:1 paint mixture to thinner) was sprayed on.

The paint was protected with a layer of Humbrol Clear gloss varnish, the decals applied and glossed over. The largest decal – the combined star and Russian script – threatened to break apart when placing it. I might have lost half a letter or so on one of the lines, so if it reads weirdly to a Russian speaker – that’s why! Finally, Citadel Purity Seal satin varnish was sprayed on.
