I thought I would try the “Early RAF Fighters and Bombers” panel line wash set by AMMO. On the underside I used the “Storm Grey” wash (A.MIG-1609). So, according to the instructions, letting it flow in all the lines, leaving for ten minutes and then cleaning off the excess with cotton wool bud dampened with white spirit. The upper green and brown areas were similarly treated with “Neutral Brown” wash (A.MIG-1614). I liked how these washes performed.
Additionally,
- the landing gear was washed with AK Interactive “Engine Grime” (AK082)
- the intake grills were washed with AK Interactive “Dark Brown wash for green vehicles” (AK045)
- the tyres were brushed with AMMO “Airfield Dust” pigment (A.MIG-3011) (fixed with Tamiya X-20A thinner)
- the exhausts were brushed with AK Interactive “Dark Steel” pigment (AK086)
I didn’t attempt any paint chipping or staining. I will leave that for a bigger scale aircraft.
