Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4

“An extremely agile, multi-role combat aircraft used in all the RAF’s current operations.” [1]

I haven’t done an aeroplane model in years, so I thought I would try one again. I selected the Airfix Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 “starter set” (A55016, 1/72 scale) [2] as it looked easy enough, certainly easier than a prop plane. The images above tell the story – no real issues. Empty space in my cabinets is getting rarer, so I finished it in flight form and attached it to the side using the included stand, somewhat in the manner of presentation of items in various museums of my acquaintance.

I did notice – too late – that I had not painted the metallic finish far enough back from the exhausts. I will say in my defence that the completed model on the Airfix page does the same! Oh well.

The markings are for aircraft ZK377, No.12 Squadron, RAF Coningsby, 2022.
