Tiger I (early production) – Part 3:Painting

Primer: Tamiya “Fine Surface Primer” (light grey) spray can.

Base coats: In all cases the paint was sprayed as a 1:2 mixture in Mr.Color leveling thinner.

  • Mr.Color “German Grey” (40)
  • Mr.Color “German Grey” (40) and Mr.Color “RLM76 Light Blue” (117) in a 1:1 ratio

Details:

  • Road wheels: AK Interactive “Rubber Black” (11027)
  • Tools: AK Interactive Real Colors Markers “Dunkelgelb” (RAL7028), “Wood base” (RCM012), “Gun Metal” (RCM032), “Red Brown” (RCM020).
  • Guns: AK Interactive “Black” (AK11029)
  • Tow cable: Vallejo Model Color “Black Grey” (70862)

A 1:2 mixture of Mr.Color “Clear Gloss” (46) and Mr.Color Leveling Thinner was sprayed over the entire model and the decals applied. Gloss was reapplied to the areas with decals, in order to protect them for subsequent stages.
