- The exhausts were painted with the various colours of the LifeColor rust set
- Paint chips on the bare metal of the tank were simulated using Vallejo Model Color “German Camouflage Black Brown” (70822), applied with a sponge.
- Paint chips on the tow cable ends were simulated using AMMO “Gun Metal” paint (A.MIG-0622).

- The entire model was washed with a dilute mixture of Abteilung 502 “Dark Mud” (ABT130) oil paint in enamel thinners – the excess being cleaned up with a dry brush.
- To simulate a small amount of staining, Abteilung 502 “Industrial Earth” (ABT090) and “Sepia” (ABT002) were added as dots to the fenders of the hull and the stowage bin of the turret and drawn downwards using a flat brush wetted with enamel thinners.
- The tow cables were further treated with a mixture of Abteilung “Dark Rust” (ABT070) in enamel thinners.
- The entire model was sprayed with a 1:2 mixture of Mr.Color “Flat Clear” (182) and Mr.Color Leveling Thinner.
- Following this a 10% mixture of Mr.Color “Tan” (44) in Mr.Color Leveling Thinner was sprayed over the entire model, to tie all the colours together and present an impression of dust.
- Wilder pigment “Dry European Mud” GP08 were brushed onto the lower half of the tan, wheels and parts of the upper hull and turret, near the hatches to present a certain amount of dirt, but I didn’t want much on this model.
- The tracks (Friulmodel ATL-06, 98 links per side) were blackened with Ultimate Modelling Products “Burnishing Liquid”, followed by a wash with “Raw Umber” oil paint. After this, the pigment listed above was brushed onto the tracks and fixed. Then, AK Interactive “Dark Steel” (AK086) pigment was brushed on onto the raised parts of the tracks in contact with the ground or running gear.
- AK Interactive “Dark Steel” (AK086) pigment was brushed on onto the metal tools, tow cable, machine guns and the end of the gun.
- Tamiya “Soot” powder was added to the exhaust area.
