Ferret Mk 2 build – Part 4:Weathering

Due to the time and location of the vehicle in question I decided to have minimal weathering, as there would be little opportunity for it to get dirty and maintenance would be regular.

  • The exhaust was painted with the various colours of the LifeColor rust set.
  • Small amount of paint scratches on the hatches using Citadel “Leadbelcher”.
  • Small amount of oil washing using Abteilung 502 “Starship Filth” (ABT510) on the wheels and suspension.
  • The wooden tool handles were brushed with Abteilung 502 “Sepia” (ABT002).
  • The headlights and spotlight were brightened with Abteilung 502 “Metal Power – Silver” (ABT205).
  • The rearlights were brightened with Abteilung 502 “Primer Red” (ABT120).
  • Tamiya “Soot” powder or Vallejo “Carbon Black” pigment was added to the end of the exhaust.
  • The machine gun and metal tools were brushed with AK Interactive “Dark Steel” (AK086) pigment.
  • Very small amounts of AMMO “Rubble” (A.MIG-3013) pigment was brushed on some parts, including the floor of the interior. But, I kept it to a minimum as I did not think that a vehicle in such a location would get that dirty, especially in peace time.
