Valentine Mk II/IV build – Part 1:Introduction

The vehicle

“In Soviet service, the Valentine was used from the Battle of Moscow until the end of the war, mainly in the second line. Although criticized for its low speed and weak gun, the Valentine was liked due to its small size, reliability and good armour protection. Soviet Supreme Command asked for its production till the end of the war.” [1]

The kit

Tamiya 1/35 kit [2].

I have previously done a Valentine tank, in British service. I thought that turned out OK so had no real desire to do another. However, the present kit is a newly released Tamiya one and I am usually interested in seeing their armour kits. This time I will model a lead lease vehicle in the service of the Red Army.
