This is admittedly a Defender aficionados post only! We decided that the slam panel cross braces in front of the radiator and intercooler were rusty enough to merit replacing (first two images). They, and the various bolts and nuts, were easy to replace – the only issue was lining up the bonnet latch. Now, these should stand up to whatever rain and muck is thrown at them for a while longer.
