Base coat: A mixture of 90% Tamiya acrylics (XF-52 “Flat Earth” and XF-55 “Deck Tan” in a 1:1 ratio) and 10% Tamiya X-22 Clear in Tamiya X-20A thinner (2:1 paint mixture to thinner).

Tracks: A mixture of 90% Tamiya acrylics (XF-84 “Dark Iron”) and 10% Tamiya X-22 Clear in Tamiya X-20A thinner (2:1 paint mixture to thinner).

Details (machine guns): Vallejo Model Color “Black” 70950.

I wasn’t happy with the unditching beam included in the kit – it did not look like wood in places at all. So, using balsa wood, plastic card, pieces of photo etched brass and parts cut from the kit version I constructed my own one. It probably doesn’t need to look a work of art! This was painted with the same colour  as the tank for the metal sheets and a base coat of Vallejo Panzer Aces “Old Wood” 310 for the wooden beam.

The paint was protected with a layer of Humbrol Clear gloss varnish and then Citadel Purity Seal satin varnish.
