A39 Tortoise build – Part 5:Painting (tracks)

Primer: Humbrol acrylic primer spray can

Base coat: Tamiya XF-84 “Dark Iron” in Tamiya X-20A thinner (2:1 paint to thinner).

The paint was protected with a layer of Humbrol Clear gloss varnish and then Citadel Purity Seal satin varnish.

Normally, I don’t like to assemble painted items. But I reckoned that the combination of tracks and wheels would be hard to paint together. They look OK. Not the look of properly articulated tracks, whether that is plastic, or, better still, metal tracks. But I doubt we will see any of those produced for this vehicle any time soon.
